| Spring Action |
Hope this finds you well, and happy Spring!
I've long dealt with multiple spinning plates, and now it seems we've added a few bouncing pogo sticks. It's a (very) good thing (except all that bouncing makes it hard to attend to the plates). In addition to the listings and postings below, there are other projects in the works, and announcements coming soon. Thanks for your continued interest in what I do.

|Thank you for your music and all the wonderful You Tube videos. I watch and listen to them all the time and try and pick up playing ideas.|
One of the best improvisers I've heard.
Your YouTube solos of the popular tunes from the 20s, 30s and 40s played at the nursing homes are, in my opinion, absolute standouts
I didn't recognize you without your piano
You are a joy to play with. We were smiling all night, as well as the crowd
Last Friday was fantastic!! We felt like we were in New York City!
I love the Erroll Garner Spirit!!!!!!!!!
Lordy, how many fingers do you have??????

There have been many speed-bumps along the way to this installment in the series, including a technical issue with the production of the CD. The lesson will be available in the coming days. Thanks for your patience.Read more about "Lessons for the Thoughtful Pianist"
One day last year, I was driving through Centerville, MD (about 20 min from where I live), and noticed a sign for a "Second Sunday Coffee House" at St. Paul's Church. |Lately I've been finding new opportunities, meeting new friends, and really feeling the love. |
It's all about getting the word out, and with the internet, it's easy to do. One big way (which can keep you off the street) is social networking. Instead of stapling a flyer a tree, you can send an event invitation. If you are on Facebook, you don't have to commit to an event to be able to invite your friends to it. Just click "maybe attending" and the share options appear. Or just regular old e-mail: for any concert event that you would care to help me promote, I can send a pdf flyer, and an appropriate video link to share, just let me know. And, thanks!
From the Journal
|It's super cool to live in a place where people come to get away. When I go outside, I'm already away, in one regard. The flip side, of course, is that when I need to be somewhere, it's usually nowhere near where I am. So, my destinations are, perhaps, driven more often by necessity than desire, than may be the case with some. Later this (Saturday) morning, I'll take a walk in town (likely passing the view of Water Street pictured above). Downtown Chestertown is about a mile from my house, so practically speaking, I am already (t)here. To that flip side, I need to hold the context in view, when I am tempted to feel that it's a drag to drive the hour and a half or more to play a gig in Lewes, DE, or Ocean City, MD, or Arlington VA, or Phila, or Atlantic City. When I get home from the job, I'm already away. Cool!|
